Team AC Milan,

Welcome all parents and children to the start of the Downtown Soccer League fall 2010.  My name is Ian Sorkin, and I along with Howard Sadowsky and Will Holmes, will be your coaches for the upcoming Division 8 season.  As I stated in prior correspondence, I press any parent who cares to be more involved either at practices when they can be there or games if desired to let me know as I feel the entire experience of this community event should be shared by all members of the family.  I would more then welcome more parent involvement.

As stated in a prior email, the name of our team is AC Milan in Division 8.  Our practices will be held from 6pm to 7pm on Wednesday’s (first practice on the 8^th), and games are Saturday at either 12:10pm or 1:10pm for the exception of one Wednesday game on the 15^th of September which is from 4pm to 5pm.  Please not all of our activities on this web site calendar.  All players will need to show up to practices and games with shin pads, cleats, and a water bottle.  If at all possible, please send your children with a soccer ball as well if they indeed have one, as at this stage practices will require more touches on the ball.  It is also nice if one parent weekly at games might bring snacks for the children similar to past years as the children look forward to this.

For all who know me, I can not stress enough the importance of fun in this league.  While winning is the ultimate goal of the children, it pales in comparison to more important goals such as friendship and teamwork.  Despite the end of the season statistics, it will always be my intent that our children enjoy themselves. 

Please look to calendar for all our upcoming schedule and expect weekly emails from me that communicate past and forward looking games and practices.
